August 2, 2010

Hey family, how is everything going? I hope everything is going good. Well, life here is great. The weather has finally been better. Last month it is was boiling hot. I mean you walk out the door and you started to sweat, it was bad. Now it is down in the low to mid 20’s which is pretty nice, so I am happy for that. Well, this was a great past week. Friday I had a work day or an exchange with the district leader companionship, but with the other elder this time, Elder Berrett. It was fun. He is in his 2nd transfer, so it was fun to be with him for the day. Saturday we didn’t do that much. We had lunch with Patrick then we had three rendezvous (appointments) for the day but they all boaffed us. (Boaffed, Boaffy, boaff = someone who did not show up to an appointment or someone who is lazy.) ha ha funny missionary terms. OK. Well, after that we did our weekly planning since we hadn’t done it yet.

It is kinda cool being here. I have met a ton of people for all around the world. I have seen Brazilians, Australians, and Europeans of course, Americans, Spanish, Mexicans, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Africans and more. It is cool, now I know I probably spelled some of those wrong but, oh well. It is actually cool to get to see people from all over the world and to get to know them and their culture. It is awesome.

Well, French is coming along. I found a cool new thing that has helped me alot and something to do during French study....I am translating the Book of Mormon from French to English. I found a Book of Mormon we cannot give out because it is printed upside down so I took it and started to translate it. It is cool to see how much I know, but also how much I don’t know so, that has been helping me. I just started not too long ago, just like on Saturday, but, oh well, it still helps me alot.

Oh, the other day I saw red paint on the road and it reminded me when we were doing my eagle project and Warren spilled red paint all over the back of his truck and all over the street. It brought back good memories. I laughed at that for some time. I think the paint is still on the road were we spilled it, and I think the back of his truck is still red also. Ha ha good times, good times.

Well, our investigators are doing great. Our baptism date investigator, David, is doing great also. He still has a little problem with smoking but he wants to stop so that is good. UMM we don’t actually have alot of investigators, even after the other companionships gave us their investigators. One other problem is the fact that it is vacation time and no one is home. They’re all on vacation, but there are a couple investigators who have stayed and we are teaching them, so that is good.

Well, that is about all that is going on in the life in Belgium. Things are great and I am loving the mission field and loving the work. I know that heavenly father has been there every step of the way and has helped me out a ton. I love you all and hope you have a great week. Je sais que l'église de Jésus-Christ est vrais. JE T'AIME LOVE ELDER WALKER

Hey, I almost forgot, I wanted to send you this picture. FROME LEFT TO RIGHT - Elder Dungan (my companion), Elder Schmutz (who just went home), me, and Patrick, the member we work with. Well, I love ya.
